Poetry: Hard times

Hard times come to make us strong,
We have to figure out what is wrong.
Why we just can't sing that pleasant song.
And why our paycheck doesn't stretch so long.

Hard times come to make us pray
We would otherwise take like for granted every day.
The bitter with the sweet sometimes is our lot.
So we've got to give it the best that we got.

Hard times make us frugal, wise and keen
Survival at that time is our only theme.
When pressures come and bills mount high
Don't give up, and don't you sigh.

God in heaven knows your needs
He has promised to supply them if you will indeed
Look to Him in every situation.
He's right on time to alleviate your provocation.

Hard times make us humble and keep our heads from swelling
If wasn't for hard times, we'd be outrageous, no telling.
A silver spoon and golden platter may never ours to be.
So let hard times do its work- giving us humility.
