You awake to find it is raining outside. The kids are going to be struck in the house today. You need something to do to keep them busy. This happened to me a few times when my nephew and his half-sister lived with me.
One of the things we did was to get a big inflater ball and throw to around to each other. Somethings we would switch up throwing it back the the same person. On the other hand, we would turn it around going back the other way.
Second is you could play hide and seek with them. You close your eyes counting to twenty. You then try to find your kids. The trick to this is not to find them to quickly. Walk around for a few minutes every so often saying, "I wonder where they could be." This will give your kids a kick. Thinking they are hiding from you. They will come out after a little while trying to surprise you. Do act surprised when they do come out.
Thirdly you could chase them around the house or have them chase you. Depending on what kind of shape you in. Will depend on if you run, jog or walk. I would suggest a walk or slow jog is best. Even though the kids will want to run.
The plan is to chase them and not to catch them to quickly. Though you will have to catch them. Then you could let them chase you. Not letting them catch up to you to quickly. How long this last depending on what kind of shape you are in.
Another thing you can do with boys is wrestle. If you are in able to get down and let them mostly twist and pull on you. Maybe kick and punch only in play. Maybe throw in a few fake head-butts. Start out on your knees then let them knock you to the ground. Do not let them pin you to quickly.
One other thing I can say is act out scenes from movies or TV shows they like. One person is the bad guy. The rest are the good guys. Whether you are the police, soldiers or whoever. You maybe a monster verses monster one good the other bad.
The last thing I can think you do is walk around having them follow you. As in follow the leader. Which is kind of like being chased though you can last out much longer. Pretend you are taking a hike or going through a maze.
These are a few things that should hopefully keep your kids happy. More importantly keeping them from driving you crazy. One last thing maybe a little TV never hurt anyone or playing video games. Try to break each up with some other actives in-between. I hope you have much fun playing inside on a rainy day.
