Oh For the Love of Sneezing
My niece told me the Chinese people believe sneezing is a sign that someone is thinking of you. She also commented half-heartedly that lately I must have many people thinking of me. Her statement was based on the fact that I have been sneezing multiple times each day for the last several months. I could only hope that the Chinese belief was at the core of my "sneezing fits" as I call them. Also, I told her if people were thinking of me every time I sneezed I knew it just has to be in positive thought as it felt so good to sneeze. My niece's comments made me curious to explore the subject of sneezing further.

According to Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ Sneeze), it states, "A sternutatory reflex or, more commonly known, sneeze is a semi-autonomous, convulsive expulsion of air from the nose and mouth. The air can reach speeds of 70 m/s (250 km/h or 155 MPH). Sneezes spread disease by producing infectious droplets that are 0.5 to 5 um in diameter, about 40,000 such droplets can be produced by a single sneeze." Wow, knowing that I could be spreading disease of this magnitude, I needed to immerse myself in finding the cause and solution to my sneezing dilemma quickly.

Most of our knowledge of why we sneeze directs us to think of the role the nose plays as one of the house cleaners of the body. A nose will clean allergens, pet dander, house dust mites, as well as non allergenic particles which can also irritate the noise by expelling them from the nasal passages. Also when the throat, lungs, or passages in the nose clog with bacteria, you can bet that the nose will do its job to clear the clog by sneezing. It is both interesting and fun to think of the nose as a versatile live in maid to the body.
Okay, now that I know the potential causes of my sneezing I can clearly see that my problem revolves around our lovable pet dog Morgan. My dog's pet dander must be the definite culprit, yet I can not resort to making the dog sleep outside in the bitter cold every day, can I? The thought of good old Morgan keeping the plants warm instead of me in the early hours of the morning sends shock waves throughout my entire body. No, I must simply find a cure for my sneezing to keep this family close and happy.

Because I am pretty free with my thinking I believe there must be a cure in folk remedies, which is where I begin and end my search. My choices of remedies are plentiful and seem to require little
