The argument against college

If you want to boost your chances of being successful, earning a higher income then you would do well to go to college and get an education. However there is definitely an argument against college. First of all once you graduate the average college student has a mountain of debt in the form of student loans and credit cards to pay. The higher income you receive as a result of going to college is almost negated because of the debt. Each year the cost of college increases an average of 5%. You wonder if the degree is helping you move in the direction of financial independence .

After graduating there have been so many students that have gone on to get jobs that did not require a degree. Sometimes they end up with jobs that have nothing to do with their major field of study. Depending on your degree you could end up going in a completely different direction because your major course of study calls for you to go to school for two or four more years to receive an even higher degree if you want to be successful in that particular endeavor.

There are hundreds and thousands of individuals that did not go to college and they are successful beyond your wildest dreams. They had the insight, understanding of the entrepreneur mind. Their success did not happen over night but they understood the value of hard work, dedication and perseverance in the pursuit of their dreams. They knew all too well that all you needed was one good idea and you could make millions and millions of dollars if you took that idea and put it work by applying your organized knowledge.

In college you are not taught how money works and how to achieve financial independence. They never teach you the financial management concepts of money. There should be more college courses that show you how to chart a course on the way to financial independence and there should also be classes that encourage you to live your dream and fulfill your destiny. The only problem here is if you were to truly go after your dream by understanding your purpose then the path that is laid before may not necessarily take you to the doorstep of a college or university. You may end up going the way of so many great entrepreneurs who have gone on to create wealth beyond measure because they went after that thing in life they were passionate, excited, and enthused about. So where do you think this life is going to take you. The decision is yours to make as to whether or not college is right for you.
