Normally, I am willing to let sleeping bigots lie, but this article is rather special I must say. You assert that homosexuality is immoral, but give no empirical evidence to back up your claim. We, at least in the Western world, view murder has a immoral act because of the loss of life and damage to homes, families, and the community in general. It is a no-brainer for all sane individuals that knowingly taking a life is immoral. Homosexuality does not fit this very general guideline for morality.

Homosexuality is a biological variation in the species that procreate sexually. Not only humans, but other animals engage in homosexual relations. It does not harm anyone else outside of the persons involved. And even the minor harm that is experienced by some is not universal. Responsible adults who engage in homosexual relations do not harm society or themselves.

What does harm society is fundamentalist doctrine. Much like the kind of doctrine that informs your opinion on homosexuality. Fundamentalism has caused millions to die throughout history and lead to the attacks of September 11th. All fundamentalists (Christian, Muslim, and Jewish) are guilty of trying to bring about the coming of their various messiahs by acts of violence and hatred. The holy books of all three religions are filled with violent and hateful speech and stories of valiant men and women who killed the infidels-du-jour in the name of their God.

I don't think the problem with this country are the men and women who peacefully engage in homosexual relations, but rather violent and hateful fundamentalists who assert that their God is the ONLY God and go as far as murder to make their point. I am all for acceptance of the beliefs of others. However, these kind of vile and misinformed beliefs are not above being intellectually dissected and shown for the emotional bullshit that they are.
