I do not really like the term "Metrosexuals" because I think that it implies that real men do not care enough about their appearance to take of their skin, hair, and dress nicely. I do not know why a man would want to be called a "metrosexual". It is like saying that he is heterosexual with some feminine traits like some homosexual men. Like everything, men need to be balanced.
For example, a man should have some pride in his appearance and take of his skin. He needs to keep his hair styled. I say styled because some men choose different hairstyles (i.e dreads, locks, or shortly cut hair). Whatever the style he chooses, it needs to be neatly kept. He needs to put lotion on his hands so that they are not rough and cracked. He should exfoliate to keep his skin healthy. He should keep his nails neatly trimmed, but men do not need to get manicures and paint their nails (even if it is with clear polish).
If a man acts too feminine, although he might say that he is straight, but he will attract unwanted male attention. Plus, women will think that his is gay, despite his protestations contradicting that fact. They will probably think that he is just on the down-low, meaning that he is homosexual but has not come out of the closet yet. It is best that if a man is heterosexual, he behaves in a masculine, but dignified way.
