This problem is not going away. Our courts need to get real and learn that perpetuating the "game playing" between to drunken parents is not good for the children. What is the judge going to do when Kfed ends up in court for the same reason. At least if they stay with one drunken parent they will not have to get the passed around feeling. Their are solutions to alcoholism and neglect and the court needs to encourage communication and mediation between the two parents to have them make a choice what is best for their children.
This is happening all over America. Young children are being bounced from one neglectful parent to the other. In every state and every city these are problems the court has to deal with when two parents are stuck in the throes of their illness. Alcoholism and cigarettes smoking destroys more families than all the illicit drugs and sex combined. This country has a huge problem that is only getting worse. Britney just happens to be the poster child of millions of men and women who are trying to raise their children and drink booze at the same time.
Courts have only so much power, and to start the power game between two parents is not a good way to resolve this issue. Kfed and Britney are the children's parents, so be it. To start a custody battle is not going to be good for the kids. Mediation should have been used and Britney then could have made the right decision, or at least had a chance to make the right decision. If she is going to change her ways and work on becoming a better mother, she needs to know it is her choice.
