There are so many ways you can do this to keep the little darlings warm. One way you should not do it however is, putting them in the oven. That tends to lead to a rather negative ending.
Using a basket, or a cut open wine cask, you need to line it with something warm and soft. Lambs skin works well, as does a cashmere jumper your partners ex gave them. Making sure that the sides of the basket or casket are lined as well. This will protect the kidneys and the feet.
For those whom are creative and crafty, you can knit you little treasure a jumper. Google puppy jackets and you will find a massive amount of patterns. Keep in mind though, that they may wish to wear it outside, so it will have to be tasteful, and classy. Your little one has enough to contend with from being little' you don't need him teased for being badly dressed as well.
If you are not creative, you can buy one. Many horse owners have rugs for both horse and dog in matching patterns. Very stylish, and some are waterproof as well as reflective. These shop bought coats are normally fine quality. But you do need to watch out for the sizing. Some of the Asian makes are a little small.
Putting the little one in bed with you is also a great way to keep them warm. You do however need to be aware that they move, and when that tail tickles you, it is not you partner trying it on for some action. So slapping your partner while they are sound asleep can also have a negative impact to your daily life.
The easiest way to keep them warm is simply to move. Making sure that with the changing seasons you look after your little charge by moving with the earths rotation to keep him basking in the summer season.
