Best do-it-yourself Halloween costumes for kids

Make a creative, but simple-to-make origami nursing cap for your nursing costume this Halloween.

Materials Needed :

1. 8.5 X 11 inch sheet of white paper
2. Red Construction Paper
3. Hole puncher
4. Scissors
5. Glue
6. Yarn

Instructions :

1. Fold your piece of white paper horizontally
2. At the crease, make another fold using 1/3 of the sheet of paper making your brim.

4. Put the paper down on your table with the brim face down.
5. Without touching the brim, fold each end in making a two triangles and leaving about 2 inches left at the top.
6. To make a more rounded shape, fold both ends in about 1 inch where the brim connects with the main part of the hat.
7. Punch holes in each end and thread yarn through each hole fastening with a knot. This will make a band to fasten the hat to your head. You can also use bobby pins.
8. Now add trimmings to your nursing cap. Cut a one inch wide strip the length of your brim out of red paper. Fold the strip horizontally and frame the brim permanently affixing it with glue.
9. Cut two 1.5 inch strips out of your red paper and apply them with glue to the top front of your nursing cap making a Red Cross.

Now you can tend to your patients in style! You can find a picture of this craft and more crafts when you visit http://craftyshops.com.
