How to make time for your workout

I am a paid fitness instructor.I am also a full time real estate agent and sing in a cover band on weekends. I am pretty busy. I do agree it helps to have a paycheck every two weeks to workout, but not everyone has that option.

I have told clients to stop making excuses about not having time. There are clubs everywhere that stay open 24 hours (with child care) and even some larger corporations have gyms in the office there for your use.

One way to make sure you go is to plan ahead. Pack your clothes and tennis shoes the night before work and put them in the front seat of your car. When you leave the office for lunch or after hours, go straight to the gym! Don't even THINK about going to McDonald's or home to get on the couch.

Another way is to have a workout partner or pay a personal trainer that schedules your sessions. You will then be held accountable. We all know how it feels to be late or even miss an appointment...the guilt always sets in.

Group fitness classes are always good because they too are scheduled. You will meet a lot of people who also have busy lives and yet, they still make time for the gym. Because it is important on so many levels.

Don't forget you will spend less for a gym membership than you will on health care trying to correct the problems you made for yourself. You just have to show up and get moving!
