Top 2007 spring fashion trends

If you are just dying to know what the trends will be for the coming Spring/Summer 2008 season, then read on. I have completed extensive research involving hours and hours of virtual travelling, clicking through the collections of all the recent shows from Australia to New York, and Europe.
So here are my over-all categories first, covering the main trends, movements or whatever you would like to call them as I see it:

Sportswear Deluxe
'New' Romantic
Retro Forties Glamour
Eighties Trash
Futuristic

Some of these over-all trends overlap and influence each other really. I guess, if I had to reduce it even further I would say that the two really big trends in fashion's future are, Past Tense and Future Perfect. Now, lets break it down!

Sportswear Deluxe
Think anoraks, hoodies, track pants and especially the 'T-Shirt Dress', as seen in Marc Jacobs recent over-the-top surrealistic collection shown in New York. There were a few wearable pieces amongst the costume like ensembles and a simple grey t-shirt dress was one of them.

I have seen the t-shirt dress teamed' with cropped jackets and striped leggings, front zip-up jackets, as well as nostalgic baseball references, and the like.
Example: Felipe Oliveri Baptiste

One factor amongst a lot of the garments which fall into this category is the use of metallic fabrics. If you're unsure how this translates, think Flash-Dance meets Flash Gordon!

We aren't talking daggy tracksuits here, this future/sportswear trend involves feminine touches, clean lines and a sprinkle of fifties & sixties sports-wear. Colours such as grey, white and contrasting team colours are prominent.

This is a blend of classic and modern ideas of dressing. The idea behind this trend I think is with the busy, hectic lifestyles we all lead now and will continue to lead in the future, there seems to be need for fuss free, easy to wear, easy to iron (most importantly) and easy to travel in clothing that still looks stylish and has a feeling of luxury.

New' Romantic
Flowers, flowers, flowers everywhere. Or it would seem when looking at some of the overly romantic floral highlights in some of the season's collections. From the comparatively sedate example of a Burberry number, which features a heavy floral lace fabric.
To a literal example by Anna Molinari who takes this a step further with her wonderfully literal bouquet mini-dress.

The silhouette is very definitely sixties. I'm thinking Twiggy running through
