Finding your path to self-realization

Finding your path to Self Realisation or just finding your path, any path in your life can be confusing. Here are a few ideas of mine that have helped me in my life journey. Really all paths ultimately are leading to Self Realisation, but at the start of our journey we mightn't know this fully and as long as we put our feet on any path and start moving on it and as we continue to move along it we will find the direction or the new direction that we really need to move in.

I reflected on this and the problem of lack of direction in our lives. If I think in my life that I am lacking direction it might usually mean that I'm not actually lacking direction but rushing too fast in a certain direction. The direction might be that I might only be one dimensional in my thinking, or only have one interest I pursue at the expense of all others, or I am blinkered by my thinking and habits and am going only in their direction without knowing it. When we do this we don't see the signs that we are passing and rushing past with our head down. The signs that are actually visible and erected in every direction for us. If we think we lack direction it's more a time to slow down enough to see what direction we are going in. We are all going in a certain direction and nobody is absolutely stopped and completely stationary in their life and not actually moving. Even in our meditation or contemplations it might be that we do slow down from the direction we were going in in one direction but sometimes during meditation we can move at lightning speed in a new or another direction as we see what we need to see and to do.

So why do we pursue spiritual growth and a spiritual path and a direction in our lives anyway? Some people are actually still following their ego while thinking it is a spiritual path instead. They want spiritual growth really to protect them and secure them from their fears. Another of ego's reasons is to honour who we are and so prove that we are advanced souls already to ourselves to check that our consciousness is so advanced and evolved to a high level already, and this is just another type of fear really. The ego thinks it's more advanced than it really is. This leads me to the interesting question. Is the ego advancing at all or is it a fixed entity or only a mechanism attached to us to test us and to test our souls?

I will try to point out the love and the truth behind these reflections of mine.

Well does the ego grow and advance? Yes Steve, I said
