Great rainy day activities to do with your children

are some old clothes or yours that aren't too big and some dress up shoes for them to play with. Scarves and hats are pleasant accessories for your child to use as well.

Making home made play dough with your children is also a great way to keep entertainment. All you need is 3 cups of flour, 1/2 a cup of salt and warm water colored with your choice of food coloring.

Add the warm water a little at a time until the dough reaches the consistency that you prefer and once you are done that simply add one tablespoon of oil to finish the process. The finished product should be stored in a Tupperware container when your child or children finish playing with it to ensure that it can be reused.

Making home made flash cards is also a fun and educational activity that can be done with your child. Have your kids draw pictures of whatever you would like them to learn about and write in the name of the object below their picture. Practice smaller words for toddler and larger ones for the older children, this will turn learning time into fun time.

Things like cat, dog, sun and boat are generally good for toddlers while things like hotel and slippers and other larger words are more appropriate for older children, these flash cards can help with reading skills and for older children it's even possible to do math questions as well.

So the next time the sun refuses to shine and your child is stuck indoors saying "MOM, I'm bored, what should I do?" you can suggest any one of these fun family activities to help them pass the time until the weather clears up. So have fun and remember to keep your child active and healthy.
