Only a day away from the start of the NHL Regular season,which team has what it takes? The New Jersey Devils left some pretty amazing players go this past off season. Two of which might come back to hurt them is Scott Gomez going to the rival New York Rangers and Brian Rafalski going to the Detroit Red Wings. They did pick-up some players to fill those voids. The biggest thing they did to help out was building a much better defensive core. They made two key acquisitions in Karel Rachunek and Vitaly Vishnevski. On offense they added Aaron Asham and a strong forward in Dainius Zubrus who is probably looking forward to playing against the rival Flyers who traded him away years ago.

With Returning players like Patrick Elias, Brian Gionta,John Madden and long time Devil Jay Pandolpho and some young talent with the likes of Zach Parise, Travis Zajac, Rod Pelley and young Nicklas Bergfors the Devils will have the ability to make a run for the cup. Of course you can not forget about the man between the pipe,Martin Brodeur. With him coming off a record setting year for wins in a single season, look for him to want to strive for that again. Although He is getting older he will tend to get tired more, as it was apparent in last years playoffs.
