I have Apples To Apples Junior in my home. My kids love it! I have no idea why! It is stupid. Maybe I only think that because we can't do it the really speedy way where everyone lays down a card as fast as they can because only half of the kids read fast enough (one doesn't read at all) so I end up reading most of their cards. I think the cards are funny, the little description or definition of the word. But boring=soup or terrifying=oatmeal or weird=godzilla... I don't get the attraction. I love games. I love playing games with my family. I have a huge closet full of games; Monopoly, Uno, Risk, Hi-Ho Cherry-O, Scrabble, Phase 10, Life, Battleship, Parchisi, Clue, Operation, Scattergories. I've got them all but Apples to Apples is just a bunch of random words that maybe are funny if put together well but more often are just stupid. How the game ever made it to the market, I will never understand. The guys in R&D must have been on something that day or maybe that night, very late, you know what time I mean, when everything seems funny and once you start laughing you can't stop. The only fun part of the game is sitting around the table with the kids and I think it is helping their reading skills. But we can sit on the couch together and read Junie B. Jones together and have a much better time.
