Chocolate Causes Acne: Fact or Fable?

For years I deprived my self from all sorts of chocolate based foods; Belgian chocolate ice cream, Smooth dark chocolate and m&m's, until one day I decided to find out for myself. Does chocolate really cause acne? Or is it a lie made up by my old aunties so I eat their oily home made Indian sweets instead?

After much research I have finally found the answer and wish to share it with those who face the same problem. Chocolate as a cause of acne is a viscous lie spread by health freaks; in fact no food causes acne or makes it worse!

I am happy to state that Dark Chocolate, which happens to be my favourite, contains properties such as flavenoids (the same found in a variety of fruits, vegetables and herbs, such as grapes, tomatoes and tea leaves) which is an antioxidant. In case you're wondering, antioxidants are natural compounds that slow down oxidative damage, such as increased cholesterol levels and heart problems, to the body caused by free radicals.

This information I was proud to announce to all my aunties (who also happen to fear high cholesterol levels and heart attacks) along with the fact that the primary and real' cause of acne happens to be Dandruff. Yes that's right itchy, flakey, embarrassing Dandruff!
A dry, therefore itchy scalp is the culprit of dandruff. The more one itches, the more flakes appear. These flakes fall onto the forehead and face causing irritation in the skin resulting in swelling which turns red and itchy a pimple!

As you can see sweet, beautiful Chocolate as a cause of acne is a horrible fable, and the real cause happens to be a dry, itchy scalp. So when you're at the supermarket later this week make sure lots and lots of Chocolate along with a strong Anti-Dandruff shampoo is at the top of your list.
