There are different types of leaders in the world & they have different leadership styles. No matter what type of leader you are, there are a few basic principles we should know to become a successful leader.

Creativity v/s Competition
Many leaders focus on competition a lot. They like to compete against their peers, different departments, different suppliers etc..etc.. What does competition do to your leadership style? You start looking at things only from one perspective. The focus is on getting the biggest piece of the pie. You know its a jungle out there when everybody is fighting for the same thing. Well, you can say by fighting, working hard, pushing, pulling..whatever it takes, you'll get what you want? But at what cost?...only time will tell

I'll say there is a much easier way to get results in whatever you want to achieve...Focus on creativity...What does that mean? Focus that there are more than enough customers in this world who want to buy your product. Just as GE (General Electric) did...ask what would you do if your current market was just 2% of the total market available in the world? It completely changes your vision. Now your team is ready to explore new markets, new uses of your product, new ways to business etc...

There is a lot of creativity hidden in each individual that is working for you today. Combined together, they know a lot more than you do..."synergy"...Ask for creative ideas from your guys. All you need is one idea..."An idea can change your life"...you k=never know where it will come from...but I guarantee it'll come only when you & your team is creative.

Communication
You have to believe me when I say that, right at this moment someone in your team is toying with that idea which can change a lot of things for your, your organization & the society we live in.... Is the person gonna tell you that? I doubt it.

The solution, get rid of all the communication barriers that stop your people from approaching you. That one team mate will appear right in front of you and give you what you were looking for.
