Eighteen isn't too young to vote. If you can fight for your country at this age and drive at this age, you should be allowed to vote. You also should be allowed to drink alcohol at this age. As young people see what is happening in this country, they will become more actively involved in politics and consequently, vote. Many young people are greatly concerned about global warming and racism. Most seem to have a genuine concern for the improvement of the planet. If we raise the voting age to 21 or older, I believe less people will be involved in politics and voting. Apathy will increase exponentially. By trying to increase the voting age, we discourage participation. The young person will resent this and come to the conclusion that he or she is being treated like an immature child incapable of coping with life. I'm not worthy of voting. I guess that you don't think that I'm intelligent or informed enough to vote. It sends a terrible message to the youth of America if anyone tries to raise the voting age.

Eighteen year olds are more mature in a physical, emotional and psychological sense than they were when the voting age was lowered to 18 in 1971. The all news channels and the internet have increased the amount of information that all Americans can access. Younger people are able to make more informed and responsible decisions than a generation ago.
