What is the role of viruses on planet Earth?

Anything that can affect the world as a whole is should be concerning. I am a firm believer that cures to all aliments are located here on our earth; either in the natural forests (whats left of them) and of course the ocean, and even in just ordinary house-plants. I am certain of this fact but I also realize that the drug manufactures get paid and their credit by manufacturing products (synthetic-chemicals)this sometimes takes ten to fifteen years however to complete and there are a countless amounts of people that needlessly die awaiting the success and breakthrough of new drugs! I think that there should be more of a focus on cureing people of the earth with substances found here on the earth. This can be done with more research on cultural medicans and tests run on gathering the evidence needed to prove that these ways work. Looking to how other cultures use the enviroment inorder to cure, stop pain, can be nothing but useful and I think should be common sense. Just as the fact stands that many of the ocean creatures and some of the rare forest life plants, bugs, etc, have been here on earth since before humans and this alone should be proof enough that finding out thoroughly about them will be and can lead to so much more than what's been discovered.
