Internet blogging as a day job? I absolutely love the idea of blogging for fun, getting ideas out there for the public to enjoy and debate, but as far as making it a full time thing for most people, it is an idea that requires serious thought and hard work. There may be a select few who can pull this off, but they are the ones who, without the wonderful Internet, would have written newspaper editorials anyways.

Most individuals lack the writing skills and inspiration to write truly good articles on a consistent basis. Also, the monetary value of even a great article or anecdote is negligible. One would have to spend huge amounts of time writing to even support themselves much less a family. In my mind, I see bloggers as people sharing experiences with the world in their off time from jobs, children, and daily life. I use blogging as a way to unwind at the end of the day, vent, and relieve boredom. I believe that most of the public uses a blog forum for the same purposes.
Those who possess the skills to be something greater than a casual blogger would usually put his or her skills to use in a more traditional format such as a book or magazine article. This would ensure the most monetary gain and also that their writing reaches the correct audience.
Blogging is an entertaining, educational experience, but I say if the individual blogger can find the correct audience and make enough money to support everyone concerned, they should be ablee to make aliving any way sthey choose to do so.
