I have joint custody of my partners children. We had them together to start our family. We used the same sperm donor for each of them. When I can afford it, I will "Second Parent Adopt" them. They are my sons in every way that they are her sons except biologically.
I was raised Independent Fundamental Baptist. I am a Christian. I believe in the death, burial, and resurrection of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. I want my sons to be taught about Jesus and God. I want them to know right from wrong. I want them to come to know Jesus as Saviour.
My partner and I signed our oldest son up to go to the Baptist preschool. We do not hide the fact that he has two Mommies. They refused to allow him to attend. Their reasoning, which I received in a letter, is they felt that their school couldn't offer our son anything. I wrote them back. I told them that I hope that God understands them keeping someone out of preschool because they do not agree with their parent's lifestyle. If one soul is lost because of their not trying to win souls but judge people, if one soul is lost, they will answer to God for it. I did not get a response.
I was so hurt by the incident. I felt betrayed by my own religion that I loved. I cried because of the betrayal.
Jesus said, "Allow the children to come unto me...unless I disagree with the parents lifestyle...." No He said, "Allow the children to come unto me and forbid them not, for such is the kingdom of heaven."
When Jesus said to "Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every living person" I believe that he meant gay people and their children also.
