Poetry: Angels

gently between her grown up teeth.
Solace and serenity in a divine parade, became a life of malice when death took her father away.
Reality and now learned skepticism left her alone and very afraid.
she was already lost with a weeping soul when she took a turn for the worse,
and she was left all alone to never sleep as if her nights had been cursed

Everything else had been lost, she felt like everything had failed her,

Her cherub symphony no longer sang a litany chorus
but silence and lonliness derailed her.

Still she faithfully remained kneeling in a nightly invocation
asking her questions in tears; praying in desperation.

She prayed away the pain she was feeling
she prayed for the happiness that death had been stealing...
She knew no sleeps except in terror with screams,
A recaptured girl's fears of the dark,
she lays awake waiting for barrels in her dreams.

Though she prays with love and is gracious,
she still thinks life isn't fair,
but tonight will differ in her hopelessness
It will be the answer to her ritual prayers.
Little does she know, she'll lay herself down to sleep
with her thumb at her side now tucked beneath the sheets.
This little girl who has now turned 30 years old.
who has all but given up her longing for answers to know,
tonight a peaceful vision will come to her like those long ago,
in an instant she'll silence her screams and be released from her dreams.
the darkness will be lifted and she'll only find love
and all that love brings,
the answers to all the questions as she will see them,
and know what everything means,
the comfort' of the midnight hour she will be back in the comfort of her parents' arms, bejeweled with a new set of wings.
