A trip to the area isn't complete without a visit to Beaver Creek Village. This small town has dozens of small bars, elegant shopping, and a friendly yet luxurious feel. Other visitors might prefer the Bachelor Gulch Village where you can stay at The Ritz-Carlton, or a private rental home.

The restaurants at Beaver Valley are above par as well. Visitors can choose to eat in numerous private areas; a meadow outside, a museum, even a grove. You may prefer taking a sleigh ride up to the elegant yet rustic restaurant Beano's. They feature hand made furniture in a log cabin situated in a Grouse Mountain meadow. The restaurant was given the Four Diamond Award from AAA, and excellent ratings from the Zagat's guide. Try the Pecan Crusted Elk Tenderloin, served with grilled asparagus, spiced pumpkin puree, and a huckleberry sauce, or the free range chicken with zucchini Provencal stew, fingerling potatoes, and tarragon jus. The adventurous diner should try the wild boar glazed in a root beer reduction, served with lentil ragout, wilted swiss chard, and a blackberry sauce. They also offer Rocky Mountain Trout and Wild Striped Bass from the area, and buffalo.

The traveler seeking a luxurious experience will also love Mirabelle, located at the site of the first home built in Beaver Creek. Run by Belgian Master chef Daniel Joly, Mirabelle has been named as a fantastic restaurant by Zagat and a slew of other publications. The restaurant offers French cuisine in an elegant setting. They also offer a got foie gras with caramelized grapes, braised salad, and a vanilla reduction, and braised rabbit with pistachio, mushroom ravioli, and a balsamic vinaigrette.

After enjoying a meal, travelers can try one of the many bars and restaurants Beaver Creek has to offer. The Coyote Caf has a DJ on site every night except for Wednesday, from 10-12:30 pm. Or head to the Beaver Creek Chophouse for a perfectly prepared martini, their famous infused vodkas, or to sample their extensive wine list.
