The greatest gift to any parent would be their kids. It is never easy to raise a family in this day and age. You could pro and con this idea all day with much debate and ridicule. I was fortunate to start my family at a young age and in some ways I grew as my children grew, learning much from my mistakes along the way.
Being young enough to have the energy it takes to keep up with the kids gave me unique opportunities and a better understanding on problems my kids faced. It did not take me long to realize I favored the boys more. Reasons being the boys took their time in growing up. Learning from their mistakes at a normal pace. My oldest daughter, so impatient with life grew up way to fast. Was it because of her maturity being a girl? I couldn't honestly say. I knew that girls matured faster than boys but it seemed like she changed overnight from a caring teenager to a woman of independence and drama.
It was a difficult time raising this independent young woman and from the time she was twelve she wanted very much to make her own decisions. The problems with raising young girls to make good decisions on their own is the most problematic a parent can go through. The problems on how to protect a young girl from the world are so much different than raising boys. For example, you do not have to worry about your son coming home and announcing that they are pregnant. My sole reason for picking the boys side of the debate.
You could buy the boys clothes at Wal- Mart and the boys did not care. My daughter would not even go in to a Wal-Mart store. She would not wear anything that came out of there. She was picky and hard to please and her independence I am sure made her that way. She so very much wanted to be her own woman and she felt trapped in between being a girl and becoming a woman. Difficult stages for any parent to deal with but it is a big part of life. The hard part is the letting go stage. Giving the little girl that you have had for so long the freedom to start making some choices on her own.
Boys clothes are much cheaper than girls. Boys need only a tooth brush and shampoo and they are done. Girls need, shampoo, conditioner, brushes and combs. Tooth brushes, make up and perfume. Hand lotions, Maxi pads, tampons and baby oil. Girls are very high maintenance and they love the fuss that is made over them even if it looks like drama is in the future.
The boys, now that they are adults have adjusted to life slowly. They work their jobs and provide for themselves.

The word "easy" has never been in my parenting vocabulary. Being a parent, in all situations and circumstances, is hard
To be honest i have mixed feelings on the subject myself. As a mother of three boys and one girl i could easily say that
