Poetry: Pet peeves

Just a Few of My Favorite Pet Peeves

Motorists with cell phones
Talking all the time
Passing on double yellow lines.

Can't you see me?
Why are you speeding?
Through a bus stop - with flashing red lights?

Wrong way drivers
Tailgaters too
Lack of respect for me or for you

No appreciation - wasting my time
Rude thoughtless people
Corporate ladders to climb

Kids with no manners
Screaming, misbehaving, out of control
Unruly children, hard to console

Parents blame teachers
For parental mistakes
No responsibility for their namesakes

Political governance
Controlling and powerful
Ignore the people just push them aside

Self-centered people
Disrespectful and rude
Misplaced anger - taking over the mood

These are a few of my
Favorite PET PEEVES

    Please, Say Please

A bump on the arm by a busy passerby,

Never looked back and I sigh,

Would a simple excuse me really hurt?

There isn't a lot that makes me mad
But I will give you one pet peeve
I hate it when I'm sitting in class
