If we can have Supreme Court Justices serving in their 70's and 80's then why not a President?
How many politicians are in their 70's? I honestly don't know but would wager there are a substantial number of politicians still serving and voting and making decisions.
How old was Ronal Reagan while in office? What about Jimmy Carter? Reagan was certainly in his 70's.
John McCain is an excellent candidate with a wealth of experience that has molded him. I do not see his age as being a factor at all given his good health and sound decision making. He is still influential and is not bullied around, which I like.
Perhaps , however, this issue should be brought to a national referendum. Consider the following (this is not meant deride elder people, rather to establish a simple fact):
Senior citizens are a large voting block and legislators are largely elder people. Most legislation in this country has been written and approved by the elder segment.
That may be why there are no *[Desperately Needed]* laws requiring people over 70 to undergo a road test with an eye, ear and reflex exam each year to renew their license.
If they won't put restrictions on their power to control a vehicle why would they restrict their power to run our country?
