HOMECOMING
When darkness softly kisses my lids
And the silence of eternity caresses my ears,
When gravity no longer pulls at my shoulders
And hungers no longer drive me forward,
I will know that I have come full circle.
When my eyes are no longer stung by joy or pain
And life's sorrows have lost consequence,
When right and wrong become one
And time and space no longer exist
I will know that I have arrived from whence I came.
