I recently read a comment from a psychic that said, 'for every client there is the right psychic'. Isn't this the crux of the matter, compatibility.

We are all energy vibrating at our own, individual frequency. In this we will find many who draw to our energy and many who are repelled by it. It is all about the energy of the individual.

This can be called your own particular brand of intuition. Or it can be felt as a feeling of repulsion or attraction. As magnetic beings, we will attract or repel as our energy dictates.

Word of mouth is the best recommendation. At the same time, if the individual psychic is not resonating with your brand of energy, they will not be right for you, despite all recommendations to the contrary. Trust your own feelings in this matter. The right person will be found that resonates with you and your energy.

Psychic do not need to tell anyone how they do it, or if they have spirit guides. And anyone aggrandizing their own particular guides as some elevated spirit entity is only trying to pamper their own ego.

The best of spirit guides has humility. They do not want nor attract attention. They merely stand on their guidance as valid.

It matters little the job you do, the relationships you encounter. It matters only how they affect your growth as a spiritual being. If the reader is capable of seeing this inner you, then you have found a treasure. Keep it and value it.

If the psychic is willing to be found sincere, then they are worthy of your resources of time and money. If they give back only what you already know, what is the purpose of the reading?

When money is on the table, there is expectation of performance. If your psychic is too busy counting their money, and not paying attention to the client's needs, then they are not focused on spirituality. This will not lead you to your own prosperity as they are too worried about their own.
