I know this is a matter of great controversy. I think that both women and men, family people or not, should unite to say that it is not acceptable to any one in society that women breastfeed in public.

Private, secure, clean spaces should be available in public places from this necessary human need. It is not adequate that this need has been ignored and that women have be led to believe that it's okay to undress to perform the intimate act of breastfeeding in public.

IT'S BAD FOR CHILDREN
-Public breastfeeding is loud
-Attracts attention
-Makes weaning complicated
-Babies need blankets over their heads
-unclean

IT'S BAD FOR WOMEN
-Destroys modesty and intimacy of breastfeeding
-Creates pressure to wean to avoid public exposure
-Embarrassing
-Creates pressure from other breastfeeding women
-unclean
-need special garments

IT'S BAD FOR PUBLIC
-embarrassing
-sometimes makes embarrassing noise
-lewd behavior for teens and men to witness
-distracting
-decreases modesty and immorality

For these reasons, many women either wean or use the bathroom to breastfeed.

Weaning is not good, because breastfeeding, in an appropriate place, is very healthy.

Bathrooms are dirty and not constructed for this activity.

It's time we made special space for this special act instead of forcing it to become a public circus act.
