Tips for living on one income

by Jay Bee

One income is definitely considered the most frustrating way of life in these days and time! Unless it covers everything you need and want basically either you are going to struggle or find other ways to make money. I should know because I have been there and still using other sources to make another income for me and my family.

The key to one income is to live within your means! No extravagant items being bought everyday and if you have a alcohol or drug habit let it go! The environment of today is every man and woman for him or herself and if you don't save and spend only when needed just guess were you might end up?

If you have a third party then it could be either another source of income or just one income. A "third party" meaning either and institution, organization, or family member that is giving you either finances or assets to survive. What ever the cause live within your limitations.

Tips that could work:

1. Tap into your talents or gift within yourself to make money. example if you like to paint then sell them or put them up for the market to see if anyone might buy them you never know? If you are a at home mom maybe babysitting for other people who live in your community or building complex, charge a fee per child.
There are alot of ways to make extra money you just have to find one that works for you.
2. Save the money when you get it, no extravagant spending especially if you can't afford it!
3. Pay your bills on time this will avoid bad credit and delinquent payment history on you behalf.
4.Get rid of spouses, roommates, human parasites, that lounge around and don't want to help with the rent or other bills you can do bad by yourself!
5. Invest a little by putting some aside for instance if your job offers a 401K then invest by all means.
6.Life insurance policies keep them up to date and in effect you never know if you might have to borrow against it in emergencies!
7. If you have social security, public assistance, child support, child alimony, or spousal support, then you might want to save a little and put it aside for a rainy day!
8.Get 3 to 5 people you can trust that have jobs and start a Su-Su. The way this works is every one contribute $20 to $40 a week from each person pick a group leader who will hold the money(Someone who is trust worthy). Then on the last day of the month every member of the group put their name on a small piece of paper and throw it in a bag shake it up and the group leader gets to pick a name from the bag(without looking) who ever name is picked that is the person that would win the money pot for that month! Sounds fun!
9. Mostly plan what you need to spend money on. What is important and what is not?
10. Look for ways to make your money grow just because it's one income and times are hard does not mean it will always be this way, get up and make things right and own your life! Stake out the ways you can turn one income into a comfortable life financially.
