Simple ways to add exercise to your day

We live in a work-a-day world. Wake up at this time, coffee by that time, no time for breakfast and hopefully just in time for work. Anybody living in any kind of modern scenario is faced with countless obligations and chores to attend to throughout their day. The rat-race which has claimed so many keeps us on the run almost non-stop and it can be difficult to find time for any extra-curricular activities. And if you are thinking of exercise in terms of 2 hour gym sessions and grueling road-running courses then it probably does seem a hopeless endeavor just to keep that body of yours fit.

Not only does exercising these days cost time in hours of commitment but the financial expenditures can also be quite considerable. Gym memberships, cross-trainers, running shoes, the outfit, pedometer watches, bags, armbands and headbands, and any other likewise item you can name amount to hundreds of dollars even before you run your first step or lift your first weight.

Now it is true in this day and age that we need to exercise and perhaps more than ever. And an entire industry has sprouted up to accommodate this need in the form of equipment, gyms, DVDs and books, but what do you really need as an absolute minimum in order to exercise? Time? Sure. Space? Yes, but not much. Money? Well, let's see.

Exercise is an activity that develops the body. We do it mainly for the sake of our health. It consists of bodily exertions which result in a better, healthier body. Now assuming that we are strapped for time and space and yes, money, how do we exercise at all? Well the answer lies in this: Start Simple. Taking basic exercises that practically everyone knows how to do, that are easy to execute and do not take up much time and take up no money, we can start exercising and get some improvement in fitness right away. What kind of exercises? Simple ones.

Walking is perhaps the easiest exercise to do yet also perhaps the most underestimated. If you use the train or bus, get off at an earlier stop and walk the remainder. Walk to the shop instead of driving. Walk or jog up the stairs (very good exercise by the way) instead of using the lift. Next are the basic bodyweight exercises that most people should be familiar with: push-ups (one of the most popular exercises in the world), crunches or sit-ups, dips, pull-ups, calf-raises and squats are just a few. Now I can hear you thinking, But what if I can't even do one push-up?' Don't worry you're not alone. All you have to do
