To many people it seems the world is ending and for many people it actually is. We have entered a period of great extinction in more ways than one and The United States seems unable to prevent it or even to get out of the way. Global tensions are high, terrorism is as strong as ever, global warming has caused some dramatic climate change already with the polar ice caps melting enough to allow shipping through the Arctic Ocean (for the first time in human memory),an intensification of weather patterns and a redistribution of rainfall resulting in drought in some places and flood in others.
