Homosexuality should be a topic discussed solely by the parents. The education system today is very liberal and we have to be careful about what we put in front of our children. The Holy Bible indicates in several places that homosexuality is an abomination. I know that all of us are not Christians but for years we Christians have agreed to having all remnants to what this country was founded on hidden away as prayer has been removed from school and the pledge taken away or the phrase under God removed. If what is offensive to a few can be kept out of our schools, then what we too find offensive should not be allowed to be taught as an alternative lifestyle. Parents should have the right to introduce and define this to their children so that their individual beliefs can be passed on as they see fit. This does not mean that we can discriminate against homosexuals and hate crimes should not be tolerated but we should be able to say that we don't agree with this lifestyle as it is presented to our children.
Something else that people should consider is that this is being taught as an acceptable lifestyle as early as Barney. (Yes the big purple dinosaur has at least episodes that talk about how everyone's families are different and part of that being different is that some people have two mommies or two daddies.) That is something I didn't want my child to consider normal at three or four. Those are the years that you want to know that certain topics aren't being broached with your children. We need to fight to take control over what is being presented to our children. Barney is shown at the day cares of our children. Please pay attention so that you can protect your child and raise him or her to have the ideals you want them to have.
