Should dodgeball be allowed in schools?

i was standing at attention on one end of my schools gym my eyes on the 20 dodge-balls set up on the centerline of our basketball court as a sharp whistle is heard through the gym i take off accelerating as fast as my 8 yr old legs will take me towards those balls my only thought is to get to them before my opponent. As i reach the ball i look down and realize it is gone and take off backwards towards the wall to get out of striking zone only to be hit halfway there. i was a casualty in a game referred to as dodge ball. As i sit on the sidelines as a tough battle is fought from each side i remember the last game i played when i lasted until the end only to be defeated by a lucky throw.... my point is in the eyes of an 8 yr old nothing is more fun than running throwing a ball and chasing people. As long as kids aren't targeting people for specific reasons other than competitive spirit nothing is wrong with this game in my opinion. also for the smaller kids it is harder for them to enjoy sports like basketball and football because they are easy targets by the bigger and stronger kids but in dodge ball it is all fair size doesn't matter as long as you can dodge a ball that is thrown your way.
