An Intersection is a place where vehicles and pedestrians are likely to meet and allows them to cut across a driver's pathway at various angles. You could find them in the city, or in the country, they could have traffic lights and lanes, or there could be only a sign to indicate their presence. You want to scan all four corners of the intersection for control devices and curb shape.
During the time you are waiting for the traffic light to change, you should be monitoring the activities of pedestrians who may not be aware of you. A common closing- probability may be a child on a bicycle who emerges from a blind spot and crosses your path. You must adjust your speed as you approach an intersection so you can safely stop for any pedestrian. If you are already stopped at an intersection, you should accelerate with extreme caution.
