We only have one computer. It is a desktop. There is no way we could have a laptop. It would be no good to us. Let me explain.
There are five of us who share this accommodation. Five separate schedules - not always posted. Twenty four hour a day surveillance - in a manner of speaking. Mixture of both male and female. Separate rooms. Separate lives. One home. Someone is always - awake, asleep, showering, working or eating. All day. Every day. That is how we live.
A laptop would be totally impractical for our residence. We would have to be, constantly searching for the laptop. Wondering, who had it last? Where they used it?
If they fell asleep with it - and where? Invading peoples privacy - sneaking into their bedrooms - while they slept, in search of the laptop. This would be totally impractical for us - in our home and how we live. Our choice is definitely a desktop computer.
It must stay put. Even if it does get moved around, while someone is working, sleeping, bathing or eating - its relatively easy to find. It can't be tucked under the blankets with someone. It can't be hid under a bed or set on a night stand. It can't be left in the bathroom, after having a soak. It can't be dropped into the tub, because someone fell asleep - while on the computer.
All in all, the best choice for this household is definitely - a desk top computer. The laptop is too impractical - when it is a shared accommodation. A laptop would do nothing for the harmony of the running of this house. A laptop would actually, cause serious frustrations and unnecessary tensions - in our home. A desktop is the only choice for us.
