Poetry: Mother

What is a mother?

Well, some might say she is a caregiver, a protector
Yet, that does not encompass all
You could say she's an angel
Yes...
My very own angel

However, what kind?
A guardian? A messenger?
No...

I would say she is Hestia's ethereal equivalent
Angel...Goddess...Ga rdener

She plants the seed for which she tenderly cares
She is the sun...
A warm kiss upon our cheeks we cannot live without
She is the rain...
Tenderly quenching our thirst for acceptance and love
She is the soil...
In which we bind and anchor our roots and through which we obtain full nourishment
Spiritual and physical
yet that is not all
Come harvest time she regretfully parts with the fruit of her efforts
She watches the fruit of her labor of love all grown up...
Walk away
But knows, that one day, in the not too distant future,
They will return
And always live the memories long and clear
When later in life, new life, from the life which she brought to the earth
Will be in her arms...
Desiring her guidance and love
