a triple clearance sale. Out of all of the three chains, Abercrombie & Fitch is by far the best place to buy jeans. Even though Hollister Co. and Abercrombie are owned by the same company and share similar clothing styles when it comes to sweatshirts and tank tops, the jeans department is where they differ. Hollister Co. has a California feel, so they stock lighter washes with whiskers, while Abercrombie focuses on the East Coast and NYC, so they have classier dark washes, minus the whiskers. I recently tried on a skinny jean in a dark wash at Abercrombie, and I was sold. The price wasn't too bad; seventy dollars for a pair that could easily pass for True Religion. In conclusion, stick with Abercrombie, and please, ditch the whiskers.

3) Every girl has to have...
If adolescent girls feel that belly-baring tank tops and low-rider jeans that expose their muffin tops are the basis of their wardrobe, they are terribly wrong. Whatever shape, size, age or color you are, here are five items that every woman should have.

a. A great pair of jeans
No explanation needed, just look above.

b. A classic black piece
Every woman needs a go-to piece that they can wear on any occasion, such as a black trench coat, a black cashmere sweater, or a curve-hugging black pencil skirt. Make sure that these pieces flatter you and your body type, and don't be afraid to splurge on these items, since you'll most likely have them for years.

c. Dress pants
As many of you are approaching the age where you need to start making some green for your personal expenses, it's always imperative that you make a good impression on your first job interview. Stick with solid colors such as charcoal gray, navy, and black, so that they match with everything. Pair these pants with a cute wrap top, flats, or low heels.

d. A little black dress
Do you even need an explanation? The little black dress has been seen on everyone since Marilyn Monroe, and even the average teen needs some va-va-voom for her nights out. The perfect little black dress should be versatile enough that you can wear it to a black tie affair or a night out with the girls, and not feel out of place at either one. It should hug your body, but not be too form fitting. Avoid super low necklines, and again, don't be afraid to spend to max out your credit card for this one. I'm not talking Dior, but since this piece will be with you for years to come, it's okay to spend more on the basics.

e. A classic pair of flats
As the extent of many teen's shoe collection is a pair of flip flops and Converse, every girl needs to have a basic pair of flats, which can be found at your local Payless. Whether they're a classy gray pair or crushed purple velvet Dolce & Gabbana's that drained your savings, they have to be ones that can be worn with everything from a jean shorts to dress pants for the ever-important job interview.

To all of the teen girls out there, I hope that I have at least mildly transformed you from consumers only shopping at the chain stores to a fashion maven. Happy shopping!
