Poetry: Reflections

looking within...the golden soul...

i looked inside the books of old,
trying to find the golden soul...
i prayed to every god conceived,
my faith was strong i did believe...
and still sadness it overwhelmed,
created fears...religious hells...
where would the kingdom of heaven be,
and when will discontentment leave?

i looked to you to give me love,
and when you did, i flew above,
yet when you failed, i felt so low,
and on and on emotions go...
had nothing at all to do
with the golden soul...

spent so much time upon my knees,
begging god to help me please,
i could not understand my pain,
i only knew i was insane,
rain and sun it comes and goes,
has nothing at all to do
with the golden soul...

free at last from thought and mind,
looked within nothing to find,
ego is not really real,
psyche now need but to heal,
round and round the circle goes,
has nothing at all to do
with the golden soul...

what i am i've always been,
there's nothing more, just look within,
on and on and on life goes,
has everything to do,
with the golden soul...

    BURIED IN LIFE

    I remember very little
