That is what you want to hear, what you want him to say.

But like the beginnings of all relationships the question must be asked - is it just lust or is it love?

The difference between lust and love is the difference between right this second and over the long haul.

People have their own ways of making the transition from lust into love.

People and animals are no different.

All of the questions posed earlier are not merely for the first few weeks of the romance between your new lover and yourself. They are also for the first few weeks of this romance between your dog and your lover.

It is a wonderful thing when he comes to the door with violets or roses. It is a special thing, made mundane and boring if standard and expected.

It is wonderful when he comes to the door and has a beribboned chew bone with him..

It should not be every time he comes to your house.

To bring something for the dog each and every time also becomes routinized. It may also be a sign that he has made it a habit to bring something for Fido so he doesn't actively have to think about him. Once in a while shows a higher level of thought, a higher level of caring for your pup.

Everythi ng your potential sweetheart does in his interaction with your pup -; his play, his teaching, his understanding, and his boundaries, before and during your time together, is some of the best insight you will ever get into another persons soul.

The bottom line of it all is only a slight twist to the words of Mahandas Gandhi:
"The greatness of a nation and its moral progress can be judged by the way its animals are treated."

The greatness of a person and of a relationship can be judged by the way the pets are treated.

Treat me well, treat my pet well,

When that happens, that is when you know you have truly found someone who loves you and your pet.

That is when you can give up your trips to the dog park - unless it is to let your pup visit his friends.
