Children just love eating cookies and I have the dental bills to prove it. Just watch them carefully put the cookies on their plate and then in 10 seconds devour them.
Now there are also the ins and outs of cookies. For example, graham cracker cookies are good but Teddy Grahams are better. Animal crackers are past history unless they have cool frosting and plenty of sprinkles. Chocolate chips are still popular but fresh baked chocolate chip cookies are 100 times better. Reduced fat or no fat cookies are definitely to be avoided. Oreo cookies are finger licking good but the blackness between the teeth is really gross. And please do not ever get cookies that have the word health labeled on the box.
As for the drink, milk is a required necessity. Never give pop or fruit juice with cookies. Always, have a napkin ready in case you serve gooey chewy cookies. Do not give cookies to children that have sat in the cupboard for over a year. Stale cookies are not going to give you Brownie points. They will cause you endless grief and a lifetime of complaints.
Remember to make sure that the children clean up their dishes after they are done.
Licking the plate off does not represent cleaning. When everyone is gone, take a sigh of relief and sneak a taste of your favorite cookie treat. After all, you deserve it.
