HOW TO CURE BAD BREATH - HALITOSIS
1. Munch on a sprig or two of fresh parsley after a meal to sweeten your breath. Its not just a garnish. It really helps and it tastes good to boot.
2. Switch toothpaste. I read that research suggests that toothpastes containing hydrogen peroxide may be more effective at controlling the germs that cause bad breath than ordinary fluoride toothpaste. Don't forget to brush your tongue, too. Replace your toothbrush every 2 to 3 months. If you don't brush and floss your teeth daily, food particles can remain in your mouth, which promotes bacteria growth between teeth, around the gums, and on the tongue. This causes bad breath. In addition, odor-causing bacteria and food particles can cause bad breath if dentures are not properly cleaned.
3. Chronic bad breath may also be a symptom of periodontal disease or an underlying medical condition such as sinusitis. If dental hygiene fails to eliminate the problem I would advise you to contact your dentist or doctor.
4. Always carry protection. Keep breath mints in your purse or pocket. Should you find yourself in a close conversation with someone who has bad breath, eat a mint yourself and then offer one to your friend. More often then not the person will get the hint.
5. Drink lots of water. This will keep your mouth moist. Chewing gum (preferably sugarless) or sucking on candy (preferably sugarless) also stimulates the production of saliva, which helps wash away food particles and bacteria.
