Your golf swing is not all about the strength you put into it, without control and accuracy it's not going to go where you want to and it will be a wasted shot. So, what can you do when a trip to the range just isn't in your schedule?
Hit a pool hall to smack a few balls around in a game that shares many of the same concepts as golf. The object is to hit the ball and make it go where you want it to. This will help you with your sense of perception and give you valuable practice in the art of hitting the ball from different angels and different places to make it go where you want it to.
We all know that our performance is not 100% when our head is not in the game. Participating in martial arts or yoga is a great way to build your inner peace, calm your mind, and find your center of balance. Believe it or not, this brings relief to not just a stressful situation, but also the pressures of a close game.
If it's upper arm strength you desire than a good game of baseball is what you need. Get out there and smack the ball around with some friends or just swing in a batting cage. However you choose to do it you'll build up those arms muscles to give your swing that little extra oomph it needs to get the ball down the green.
The above are a great way to keep your head in the game even when you are away. It's important to remember golf is fun because you enjoy it, if you stop enjoying it than it isn't fun anymore. Variety is not a bad thing in any area of life and it's healthy to change things up a bit in your normal routines. So, take the time and experiment, see where these ideas take you and enjoy the game!
