Gone with the Wind is a literary icon
A southern belle who overcomes the odds
Gone with the Government is modern life
The poor are comforted with untrue nods.
Of mice and men is genius,
The book that spans many a generation,
If that situations was present today,
I have no doubt that it would end with a gun
The Outsiders spoke to the rebels,
Who took on the social elite,
The news tells this story nightly
And they clean it up so the rich look beat.
If true life of the ghetto was taught in school
Students would stand and applaud
Because that is the life we really live
The life of death and fraud.
