Best way to measure body fat

There are three primary ways to measure your body fat. Each of them has their advantages and disadvantages of the sort. First of all, do not use the weighing scales. Meaning, weight isn't necessarily a factor when measuring your body fat. One can say that muscle is heavier than fat; but, it's not the case. Fat and muscle very much weigh the same with each other. However, muscle is more dense than fat. Meaning, a person who's mostly fat is going to stick out like a jelly doughnut. At the same time a person of the same weight that is purely muscle is going to look slimmer than the person who has more fat.

Weighing yourself alone isn't going to determine how much body fat you are. The body mass index (BMI) charts aren't the best ways to go to measure ones body fat. To understand the BMI charts, you have a set height and a set weight to go with it. One example is that I'm about 5'11 and the maximum weight is supposed to be one-hundred and seventy nine pounds. I weight about one-hundred and eighty-three pounds. To the BMI charts, I'm considered overweight. But here's the ticker, I'm mainly muscle instead of fat.

When someone says you can be considered overweight, you can to ask them if it's by muscle or fat? That just shows that weight alone isn't going to measure your body fat. Take a look at those professional wrestlers and mixed martial artists that weight over two-hundred pounds. By the BMI charts, they can be considered to be overweight. However you need to take a look at Triple H, The Rock, and Dave Batista; you can see they hardly got any body fat on them. They are mainly muscle mass.

Keep in mind that the three types of means to measure your own body fat are not one-hundred percent accurate. There is a method that is one-hundred percent effective. Most might want to go that method. However, that really isn't the best way to go. The one-hundred percent effective method is basically cut you up into pieces and so forth. But there's no need to go into details about that. That shows that this method though is one-hundred percent accurate and effective isn't the best way to go. By willing to go that route, you're willing to sacrifice your life just to see how much body fat you have.

In short, don't go that route. You're not going to get a one-hundred percent accurate reading whatever the three methods you do. And after hearing about the one-hundred percent accuracy method, I doubt you would want to go down that road.
