Sirs,
I VOTED YES to this proposition as I wanted to forward my opinion that proper, equitable and speedy health-care should be available to all...irrespective of wealth or ability to play.
However, we should not be assured that Europe is the Nirvana OF health-care..!
Is it not the case that PRE-ELECTION politicians, (even in Europe) 'shout from the roof-tops' their promise to reduce, if not eradicate, the discrepancy that exists between the rich and poor regarding health-care ?

And is it not also the case that POST-ELECTION 'SUCCESSFUL' POLITICIANS are invariably remiss in their 'devotion' to their less well-off electorate ?
Simply put...health-care is BIG,BIG BUSINESS...no matter what part of the world you come from.!
Whatever urgent need humans have...whether food, water...or health...you can be sure there will be people/organisations who will attempt to take advantage !
With regard to health...and the question proposed...i.e. 'European style' health-care...we should not assume that in Europe we are any more pro-bono than in the U.S. !
There are movements in some countries here to be just as inconsiderate to the poor and less well-off. Privatisation (private health-care) is the new 'GOD' here...and, of course, we know who is likely to benefit (survive)in that scenario!
In the U.S..the U.K...or indeed in Ireland...will we hear/read a PRE-ELECTION politician supporting the notion that..THE HEALTH OF THE POOR IS AS IMPORTANT AS THAT OF THE RICH ? ABSOLUTELY YES!
YET...ALMOST AS SOON AS THEY BECOME ELECTED...THE POLITICIANS ARE 'IN BED' WITH THE BIG-BUSINESS INSURANCE FIRMS ETC...PROFIT BEING THE ONLY MOTIVE...COPPER-FASTENING THE DISTINCTION BETWEEN THE 'IMPORTANT PEOPLE' AND THOSE..WHO (UNWITTINGLY) SUPPORT THEM !
OF COURSE...THE RICH + ELECTED POLITICIANS WON'T HAVE TO WAIT FOR HEALTH-CARE LIKE THE REST OF US...THEY HAVE THE MONEY (THANKS TO US) TO AFFORD THE BEST...AND THE SPEEDIEST OF CARE..WHETHER IT BE FOR ORTHOPAEDIC..CARDIAC...OR, GOD HELP-US, CANCER !
The reason health-care is so expensive...is that the human is a greedy, inconsiderate animal...no more, no less...and...whether we like it or not...no matter where we live...politicians will do nothing about the huge discrepancy between rich and poor...because it would not serve their( or their families) purpose...which is to preserve their position among the elite...and survive (health-wise) beyond the 'poor, naive classes'). Thank you.
