Novel excerpts: Revenge

He deserved every bit of it. I will never forget the look on his face as I strolled casually into his office. At first it was was smug pleasure, quickly turning to absolute horror as I completely ignored him and turned to his colleage.
She was nice, and very interested in everything I had to say - especially as she had been dating him too for the past 3 years. As I gave her more examples she turned a strange shade of green as she realised I was telling the truth and there was a lot more to come. She was 20 years my senior but I was the adult in that conversation, The one who knew what was going on and who had seen this evil man for what he really was.She couldn't cope with the knowledge of event that had been my everyday experince for years. Later I realised how incredibly hard it was for her, for his peers, for my parents. But at the time I couldn't understand why I seemed to be the only one with any strength.
He seemed to shrink. This big scary man who had dominated my life for the last 8 years suddenly seemed different, He was scared. He was terrrified of what I might say or do next.
That was the best revenge I could get. A lot of women might have trashed his car or cut up his ties, but I wanted him to feel as scared and uncertain as he had made me feel. He taught me to play those kind of mind games - As it turned out, the pupil was far more adapt at them than the teacher
