Sweet Sixteen (for Lea)
Big blue eyes
Porcelain face
Long slender limbs
Provide natural grace
Beautiful hair
Flawless skin
Envy of all
Who wish to be thin
Musical laughter
Never many tears
Great sense of humor
Realistic fears
Once very shy
Now a bit bolder
Years flying by and
She's getting older
Friends carefully selected
Steady boyfriend has her heart
Studies never too neglected
In life she'll have a decent start
College soon on the horizon
Many choices yet to make
Live at home or live on campus?
What to leave and what to take
Next a career and maybe marriage
She's come far from her baby carriage
Maybe someday a baby of her own?
All we did was blink and now she is grown
