Dating horror stories

I had a dilemma during the fall of 1979 and it was the most unnerving situation I had in my young adult life. My girl friend and I had broken up about a month prior to the problem and I thought the relationship was over but that's another part of the story. I started dating another girl, I'll call her Betsy. Betsy was a nice girl and pleasing to the eye. We went out on several dates. I dated my first girlfriend's sister without her knowing or with the second girl named Betsy knowing either. This was great for about a month and no one new about the other. I could tell I was in for a world of hurt if any of the girls started to compare notes

with each other.

This caused me great pressure because I knew all you had to do is not let them ever see you with the other. I was trying to get over one and the sister was trying to help me get over her too. The ace in the hole knew nothing about the other two. Confused? You should be and I should have had a sign that said "Don't try this at home". It was stressing at times and with a few near misses I was successful at keeping the girls from being seen with me.

I met my friend Justin at the local Piggly Wiggly parking lot after I had gotten off work. We parked our cars on the curb of the side walk. He moved over in to my car to talk about the nights events. He said he was going to take Lori down to the river and she was suppose to bring some friends. At the time I said "Great, let's throw another log on the habitual dating fire". This was all I needed, another nail in my coffin.

It was the fall of year and deer hunters always left a fire burning under the viaduct over the river. I knew it would be romantic and it was always a good place to talk and have fun. Justin and I talked till the Ford Mustang Mark II pulled in behind our cars. I looked and strained my eyes to see the other girls that were in the car. I could not make out just who was in there because the windows had a dark tint. I hear Lori tell Justin that she will follow us down to the river and I left it at that, still trying to figure out who was in the car.

Justin and I pulled my car under the bridge and switched off the ignition. Lori pulled her car in beside mine and we all started getting out at the same time. When I saw the girls I almost choked. It was my old girl friend and her sister and the girl I didn't think they knew about. It was a night mare! All I could think about was what James Cagney said in the movies, "Cornered like a rat". The
