No, I mean, why should it. You are only risking your own saftey. Oh crud, I almost forgot, you are risking other non-distracted drivers. Hmm, that does put a damper on things.

I wasn't really against cell phones and driving before. Well, that is if you don't count all the times I've scoweled with out mercy at the little idiot with the cell pasted to their ear cutting me off.

However, thanks to texting, I have a cell phone phobia. Every time I see someone pull their eyes OFF the road to text to their buddy (K TTYL G2G THRU STP LGHT) and swerve over lines, run lights, or just drive like they have nothing upstairs - ecspecially when I have my children in the car, I want to scream!

I can't think of any conversation you could be having that would be worth the risk to my children, or anyone else.

I read about 'Banning Texting While Driving,' well, that might work, except how are you going to enforce that?

"No officer, I wasn't TEXTING, I was, uh, checking my voice mail."

Nice idea, but it won't work. Banning cells will be next to impossible too, but at least if there is a fine attached, maybe people will use a little more common sense.

Maybe.

Anyways, C U L8R.
